Care Instructions

• Your Rescued Surf Cap was built for the long haul—sun-soaked days, packrafting trips, and every adventure in between. Take care of it, and it will hold its shape, color, and story season after season.

Cleaning Care

• Spot clean first: Most dirt or sweat marks can be removed with a damp cloth or soft brush and mild soap.
  
• Deep clean: Hand-wash gently in cold water with a small amount of mild detergent. Avoid machine washing—the agitation can warp the crown, fabric, or bill.
  
• Sweatband care: Use a gentle brush or cloth with a drop of soap to refresh the moisture-wicking band.

Drying Care

• Air dry only. Reshape the crown and bill while damp, then let it dry naturally away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
  
• Do not bleach.
  
• Do not tumble dry. High heat can break down the nylon fibers and affect the fit.

Storage

• Store on a hat rack, shelf, or hook to maintain shape.
  
• Avoid crushing it in a bag for long stretches.

Curving the Bill

• If you prefer a curved look, proceed carefully—improper bending can damage the bill, and the owner assumes all risk.
  
• To curve your bill: Flip the hat upside down so you’re looking inside the crown, with the bill facing your body.
  
• With both hands, place your thumb and index finger at the base of the bill where it connects to the hat.
  
• Gently pinch each side and bring them together in the middle like you’re having them “kiss,” applying even, symmetrical pressure until you achieve your desired curve. Hold it for 15-30 seconds and repeat as needed. Over time the shape will begin to hold.
  
• Avoid over-bending or using heat—the internal structure can crack or lose shape permanently.

This hat is one size fits most. Measure your head circumference with a non-stretchable measuring tape. Place the end of your  tape on your forehead and wrap the rest around the back of your head, keeping it 1″ (2.5 cm) above your ears. Pinch the spot where the tape meets the other end, lift the loop over your head, and note the measurement. Be as careful as possible to get the most precise measurement.

How long does it take to make my order?

Each item is made to order. It typically takes 3–7 business days to create, and may take slightly longer during peak seasons or holidays.

We currently ship to the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
At this time, we do not ship to the UK, EU, or other international regions.

Our production partner will send you a replacement at no cost—no hassle, and usually no need to ship anything back.
